The silk Scarf by Ahmed Essop

PLOT SUMMARY
Mrs Nebo is the wife of a well respected man , she love to cove herself with expensive clothes and jewellery . On this occation to the oriental plaza . mrs nebo wanted to buy a silk scarf that would match whith the dress she bought .  THe scarf has brought it all ,Mrs  nebo want to pay with a cheque and the shopkeeper did not accept cheques .Mrs nebo was very angry and she would do every thing to have the scarf .She told him about her husband who was about to become a minister and the fact that she was living in houghton , the land of rich people . Yet the shopkeeper stood his ground and that he will not accept the cheque .magaret her friend also tried her best to convience the shopkeeper . she mentioned  of  the expensive car mrs nebo drove and to talk of the bodyguard , who would have all those things if she did not have money .that did not change his mind .Mrs nebo was threatening him and shopkeeper was  afraid the fact that he was a foreigner .Mr sader was the only one to change his mind .Mrs nebo received the scarf as a gift .
